Well...it has been a very trying few weeks. Mom is still in the hospital. Not sure whats going on with her yet. I have not been able to go up to the hospital very often, as gas prices are terrible. I have been calling her every day, talking to her...I DO feel guilty, for not going every day, but its just about an hr drive one way. Anyhow...She still has terrible back pain, from her lungs I guess...but they are thinking to send her home today.( Friday) I really think its just a matter of time here...with her gongestive heart failure. Carl(her DH) will call me later to let me know if she is getting sent home, If not I will make the trip up there to see her.
As for Becky...I was down to Loiusville Wednesday. They had to operate on her lung, left side. She has been very sick for 3 weeks now, not being able to eat anything at all. It has really been touch and go with her, but I feel now she is on the mend. Thursday, her doctor (surgeon) went in and removed 3 spots from her lung. When he was in there he noticed the bottom of her lung was crumpled up...so as he peeled it open, he found more infection. He was able to suck out the infection, and remove the 3 spots....did a saline rinse of her lung, and plural area around the lung. She has chest tubes in, draining whatever infection is left in there, and is on a morphine " on call" injection. When she is in pain, she just pushes a button. Penny(my otyher sister) and I stayed with her Thursday evening, and most of the day Friday. By Friday afternoon, she was able to eat, and sit up...so hopefully she is on the mending hill soon. Her doctor did say at least another week in the hospital. I feel bad that I can not be up there with them both, but I DO still have a farm to run, and a husband to care for here.
While I was gone I did get a few calls for people wanting to buy chickens, I will call them back today, and hope I didnt miss the sale.
I hope all is well with you my dear friends. I just want life to get back to " normal"
