We originally had 9. 3 are roos and we either lost one of them or a BSL. They outgrew the 8x10 coop and we lost a few to pecking 2 were Americaunas. When we started out everybody around here told us to get twice as many as we wanted because that's about what would survive. We wanted about 15 hens (3 BCM, 3 RIR, 3 BS, 3 Americaunas) and about half would be roos. We ended up with 59 total. Lost 2 to a snake, and 4 or 5 to pecking. When we brought them home they fit in a big shoe box. Now we are struggling to keep up with enough space to keep them from pecking each other. We recently added a 10x16 run and pulled 18 roos out to roam the yard. We put the hens in the coop at night and the roos in the run. We got them mid-April so they should be laying soon. We used medicated starter for the first 4 weeks, since then no medication. They are right at 24 weeks now
