Yep. Might take days or weeks....or months until they get to the 'normal' size for that bird.

Like a chalk paint. Add water to the DE, stir and paint the roost and coop area where the chickens roost with a paint-brush.
I tried to spray it, but that didn’t work bc the nozzle became clogged.

Yay!!! Got my first 2 eggs today. They are about the size of a Cadbury egg. I assume they will get a little bigger in the future? Do I do anything different now or just keep up how I’ve been raising the chicks?

DE’s sharp structure kills the young mites that hatch. Lime wash only dries out and is less effective.
But I think you have to apply DE more often than lime wash. Maybe its best to mix them to have the advantages of both. But I never tried.
