I musta lost my mind at Tractor Supply.....

Haha, our feed bill isn't to bad anymore since they built a new feed mill that sells chicken feed in bulk, what kind of duck do you have?

Every time I come back from tsc my husband is like "woman! What have you bought now?!?" and "We have enough birds" mind you we only have 7 adult chickens as well as 8 pullets in the intermediate pen as well as 3 ducks and and 8 chick's in the brooder in the house. I told him you should see how many some of the folks on byc have! If chickens were a drug I'd be a recreational user and some folks I've seen are all out hard core addicts lol that may be my path though if I keep going at this rate...I have an incubator and I'm not afraid to use it!

Loved your story. Maybe losing your mind at Tractor Supply is a disease....or a guy thing. Why did my husband sneak of to TSC and buy bantams, of all things? (This occurred after he couldn't con me into doing it.)

If you only have the one boy Muscovy its possible he's just wanting a "special friend " it's spring and he wants to do his thing and he's got no one to do it with. Ducks want to be with ducks. We have a pair in our chicken pen and the boy never messes with anyone, he just hangs out with his girl all day.

He has deeper issues than that. He's about a year old, just the right age to have been some childs cute little yellow Easter present last year. What I suspect is he outgrew his cutness and started to dominate everybody in the household so they dumped him. Because he suddenly turned up at my friend's farm and instead of staying in the pond with the other ducks he hung around their back door attacking everybody that came & went. I went over to help him fence a horse pasture and the duck approached me showing his crest, hissing and wagging his tail. I said "Hey duck" and reach down and scratched him on his back. The rest of the afternoon he followed me around like a puppy. So for fixing my friend's fence, he paid me with....a 6-pack & a duck.
Took him home, follows me around like a puppy, sits on my knee & wags his tail. Attacks everybody else. Started out as sneak ground attacks from the rear, progressed to full frontal ground attacks, now conducts full aerial assaults from a distance. He lands on victim, holds on with his bill, claws them and beats them with his wings. He has almost a 4 foot wingspan. It's like getting attacked by a flying pitbull. Wife said next time he attacks her she's shooting him. But he follows me around like a puppy and sits on my knee. When he gets in my way I say "YOU BETTER GET OUT OF HERE YOU STINKIN DUCK!!!" and all you hear is his big webbed feet going flop flop flop as he runs away.
Not only is he a nuisance, he's downright dangerous.

Sounds like in his head you are his special friend. My roommates goose is like that, totally loves her but charges at everyone else hissing and biting , of course geese don't have those wicked huge claws that muscovies have..... I can understand how your wife feels . I wouldn't want to have that coming at me full force.
