Just be careful about the stock you get if you go with Delawares.

I personally LOVE my Orpingtons and my Welsummers. I am eventually going to only have Orps. and Welsummers. Both breeds are just great birds!

Thank you for the advice on the delawares! I have a 2 year old daughter and I wouldn't really want to take the chance on getting a mean bird. She loves to go outside and sit and hold them. I would hate for her to get pecked. Maybe we'll end up getting a couple of barred rocks. or just some more EE's! They come in every color!
