A bit frustrated. I have been kicking butt and taking names as late. Seriously. Working pretty fast toward uber organized and I got a schedule that just will not quit. Well yesterday a teacher said maybe my daughter said she should lay out of a dance performance because I "look like I have too much on my plate already". I admit I have a lot on my plate but Dance is my daughters only obligation and we are pretty dang dedicated to it. Its what she wants to do more than anything else and she works really hard at it. So because I look like I am busy and running she should miss extra classes and a huge performance? Dang it.

So I need to find a way to keep up with everything and find time to get super dressed up twice a week too. Because apparently I need to look like I have time on my hands. I may just bang my head against a brick wall. lol I admit I do a lot but i am pulling it off and then some. I don't just pull mine off but I pick up the slack for family and friends too. Doesn't that deserve a skip on make up or jewelry. Its not like I come in wearing pajamas. Its just more my hair is not perfect, no make up, jeans and clean tee and tennnis shoes. I am dressed to run for the 2 hours I have to wait on her in class.

So I guess I need to come up with a quick look that takes less than 5 to pull off. Maybe I can do make up while driving or something. Bah You know the chickens and goats never care if I wear make up. People are so picky.

( oh and btw thank you everyone who on previous posts suggested i try crock pot cooking. Wow is the family happy with this and it has saved me a TON of time. )

I'd lay off the helping family and friends. You're going to run yourself into an early grave IMO.

HOWEVER. Screw the teacher. For her to comment on your apparel is just plain rude. You DO NOT have to dress up to take your daughter to dance class. That is just dumb. I dress for myself and anyone (besides my bosses) who doesn't like it can kiss me in the rear end. lol

I sorta feel that way but I know the kids get judged on how I am also. I just am not a dress up gal. Yes what not to wear would be horrified because I will go out in jeans, and a bright pink " I love chicks" t shirt and flip flops. I seriously think that big yellow chick on the t shirt is all the accessorizing I need. I should probably do a bit more with the hair too.

the day I dressed up to impress someone at dance class is the day they plant my a** in the ground! If they don;t like my jean shorts tank top & baseball cap then they can shove it where the sun dont shine! Sorry but it sounds like your plate is already full w/ other obligations & the dance teacher should be appalled she ever even mentioned it!!! Some people have some nerve to dictate how others should act/dress!!!

Or, you could just show up in hair rollers, slippers and a bathrobe.. tell her next time you hear any comments about your "time" or "appearance" you'll show up neked........ let her chew on that one.

Speak to the person who suggested it let her know her judgmental, snobbish BS that she's using to affect your child...is not going to be tolerated!

I've known this lady forever and she didn't mean it to be snobbish. In her eyes i am running on empty and she is worried. She keeps having the receptionist check on me when I nap in my car during classes. BUT I don't want that concern keeping my daughter out of an opportunity to learn. I am not as bad off as she thinks. Half me looking like I don't have time to get dressed up is I don't like getting dressed up. I am probably the only mom in that category there. I swear some of them come in looking ready to go clubbing. I nap in the car not because i am so worn out I can't stay awake. I drive her in for 2 hours of class twice a week. Thats twice a week that I am ALONE for 2 whole hours. I read. I nap. I walk. Its like my own personal treat that apparently worries everyone else. I don't want to go shopping or sit with the texting moms.

I just want a simple way to look like I had enough time to look a bit more with it. I am going to talk with the teacher too. Its sweet that she is worried but she needs to know I got it all under control. I wish she could see all i do at home and how having quiet for 2 hours might call for a bit of a nap. I love those naps. Heck if she did this performance that would be 3 times a week that I get alone time for 2 hours. So really she is depriving me of relaxation and rest. lol So heck i get my hair a bit shorter so the curls look better easier and maybe some non farm clothes are called for. Maybe some t's without chickens or barns on them. No biggie

She's just lucky you aren't me. lol I'm way too open with every thought that pops into my head. Usually they aren't even thought on all that much before they pop right out of my mouth. She'd have had an unpleasant time with me. I dress up for work every single day so when I'm not at work I'm in yoga pants and my husbands tshirts. Anyone mentioned it and I'd take one of my high heels and ram it up their......... lol ANYWAY. You sound like a very nice and conscientious person. Mind throwing some of that my way?

I hope your right, that she is just concerned about you. Tell her what you told us about this being you only relaxing time ect. And that you enjoy the quiiet time..

I know I would.

all the best!!

I agree with Redhen...just be yourself. I wouldn't waste my energy fretting over a rude comment from my daughters teacher. Use that energy somewhere productive.
