I need a quiet duck!!

I got muscovies because I wanted a quiet breed. Definitely not disappointed. They're so sweet. Females have a quiet coo and males just do a greeting hiss from time to time. The loudest they'll get is when the females are sitting on a nest and anyone disturbs them. Then they'll do a high pitched squeaky "bark". Lol Or when they occasionally congregate together and have a chat, all chittering together. It's adorable.

One of my males is up my butt and follows me around with his tail wagging and happy-hissing. He's like a pet dog.

I had rouens and they were LOUD at times, particularly when it was time to feed them in the afternoon. Incessant QUAAAAAACKing. They also drilled giant mud pits into the dirt (which my muscovies don't do) and it was plain annoying. Sold em. Happy I did. Sticking to my scovies from now on.

Also, I've found that other duck breeds don't care to hang around muscovies. The muscovies stick to themselves and the other ducks stuck to themselves. I bought a couple babies from TSC to raise for meat and they stick together but never interact with the muscovies at all.
