How many do you do at a time? I've never done more than 4 cockerels, so this is going to be a lot...I help my sister with her flock. We do 7 weeks.

We did 15 on Sunday. What did help is a chicken plucker, it goes a lot faster. How many do you do at a time? I've never done more than 4 cockerels, so this is going to be a lot...
I have always just skinned them. 2 seconds - swoop! Done. I would consider plucking, though. It would probably look better. We did 15 on Sunday. What did help is a chicken plucker, it goes a lot faster.
Yes!!! Very wise. And good advice about the roosters! Mentally archiving all you said, thanks!Thank you! It has taken me many years to get here. The idea that I am not relying on the grocery industry for our meat for the winter is feeling really good right now. Also - I ordered all roosters so that I didn't have to feel too awful bad. I will tell myself that they would get mean eventually! It also helps that they can't live (very comfortably or easily) after a few months old anyway, so I will have to dispatch.
