I need advice with hatching from a broody hen!

Omg. Like you I have one in a cage and I just went to let her out and 3 of the seven eggs hatched. Still wet so it probably just happened! This is awesome!

Wow congrats! I’ve been too afraid to look since this morning. I don’t know what kind of progress there is!

I don’t use all flock feed. I use layer feed pellets and add about a tablespoon of oyster shells into every 1-2 cups of feed.

Thanks. I’m afraid to add the oyster shells directly to the feed since I see people advice against it. May I ask you you add it to the layer feed or to the all flock raiser? If it’s working for you it might work for me. I have a drake and three roosters and I have no other choice it seems

I will just sprinkle oyster shell around one edge of the feed pan. That way it is in front of them, but still free choice.

Two babies! They were trying to hide under mom. The remaining fertile egg doesn’t seem to be hatching.
