I need advice

Update on Peggy and apartment complex incident: I have made the apartment complex aware of what happened and they are following up with the gardening company that they are currently using. I agree, this seems very unlikely to be a mistake. especially with a string trimmer which is what they use aside form a lawnmower. My conclusion is that if it would have been a lawn mower, Peggy would not be here still ! That being said I plan o addressing it in the public eye of the next association meeting as werll to bring light of the incident to the residents who have also fallen in love with Peggy and his recovery progress.I have also included some recovery progress on Peggy, he is eating a more balanced diet of the pellets and some lettuce along with the occasional corn that he likes to snack on. Everything has to be submerged in water for now but I don't mind the mess. I do find that he prefers being outside entirely however, I feel hesitant to put him fully outside without my supervision until his bill progresses a bit more. Please let me know what you guys think of the progress on his bill! One picture is the very tip of his bill, and the other is taken from the bottom angle of his bill. Thank you all for the support over the past few days!

Thank you for the update!! What is the yellow stuff hanging off the beak in the first pic? Looks at first glance like pus/infection.

I think it looks good for what happened. The bottom part at least isn't shredded. That probably helps a lot with eating. You've done a great job caring for him through this. If there aren't any threats to him not being able to defend himself right now becasue of his injury he would most likely be okay outside. I just know when I had more than one Muscovy drake they can fight and I wouldn't want Peggy to have to defend himself right now with his injury. You'll have to use your own judgement on that.

I dont think its an infection because its hard and not oozing, I am assuming its part of the nerves that have calcified? Not entirely sure.

Hello everyone! Peggy is doing very well but I had a quick question, there is a small piece of his bill that is sticking out a bit more than normal, and I am debating on cutting off the piece that is let of the original injury, I will try to put a red circle around the portion I am talking about to see what you guys think I can/should do? I am worried that it will cause more bleeding as well as stress for him and pain.

I am so glad he is doing well.
I haven't removed various protrusions from injured bills and they have all done OK. Some wear down into nubs. I had one bill with a sort of knob on it sticking upwards. Various duck-keeper and wild life habilitator friends predicted it would be knocked of, but it wasn't.

I suppose if a bill protrusion got in a ducks way, I might consider removing it. But I have not done so todate. I would be worried about causing further pain and bleeding
