I need an intervention...

My bantams are in with standard birds as well, but they were raised with them from day old chicks. I don't know how comfortable I'd be trying to integrate bantams into an adult flock of standards.

I have 2 coops right now... I'll be up to about 5 or 6 this summer hehehe
One for turkey, one Ameraucaunas, 2 or 3 for silkies and one for my ducks :) everyone gets to have their own space :D

I'm definitely no expert, I've only done it the one time. But mine did fine. Just like adding new large birds. A day or two of learning whose boss. No problems. Nothing that made me feel like I had to get involved. But, of course, it's your decision. If you can add them to your existing coop without having to build a seperate one, you're more likely to be "allowed" to get them.

I'm in the same boat!
I had it all planned out
25 straight run silkies
25 straight run Ameraucaunas
Ending up with a 50/50 ratio, I would roughly have 20-25 birds total. That is manageable.

Somehow I have 13 silkies, 7 Easter Eggers, 2 SLW, 1 australorp, 2 ducklings, and two adult silkies?!? I also have 15 more silkies coming next month along with my 25 Ameraucaunas.. Not too sure what happened but I blame chicken math, oh and chick days at TSC..

TSC Chick Days caught you too? I brought home 4 assorted bantams the first time. 2 more (isa browns) when I place my order for "original 25" Who knew? Everytime I went in for supplies I had to avoid the bins.
