I have checked w/ McMurrey and they are sold out until sometime in Feb. But I did find chickens. WELP has several that are going to hatch Nov. 19. They will have(brown eggers) Golden and Silver Wyandottes, BR, Blk Sexlink, RIR and BO's. I am not sure which ones to get.
They rate the Dottes at around 180 eggs a year(not very good for egg production). The others I am going to have to reasearch over the weekend. I have to go sell gensing to buy them. That is why I dig root. This year it is going to start a business for me.
I have raised BR, RIR, and BO's but never counted eggs, just gathered them. I know that the RIR's are suppose to be real good layers and are good chickens to work with. As far as layers Greathorse says that Red Sex Link are really good but I know that the Black has differiant breeding, are they as good on pasture? For this I am looking at feed conversion, egg production and ease of maintance.
Inm03 I think that I will order some of the BSL pullets for sure. They sound like they will meet all of my needs. Thanks for your help.
I really like BO and BR's but do not know how they will produce. I have not done a search yet but does anyone know offhand where I can find a Estimate egg production for the diff. breeds of chickens?
Thanks All, Randy
