hello, i am new to the duck world, and right now i am unable to get tubs, but i have spare cardboard boxes. i'm afraid to use them with heat lamps because i am afraid that it will catch fire. any help?

i do have a bin like this, but i don't think it'll be the right height it is 6inches high
 
Do you have an xtra bathroom you could use the bathtub in? Cardboard wont work for ducks, they soak everything with water in 5 minutes....
What stores are around you? Most sell some form of tub/ Rubbermaid
Or you could brood them outside in the coop
Or in a dog kennel..
 
yes i do live by store. i'm hoping to be able to go out and buy one.
i heard from other online care on ducks that cardboard boxes would be fine

It would have to be a real big cardboard box. And you would have to be real careful with the heat lamp. Whatever you choose needs to be big enough to have a warm corner and a cool corner. As in 15-20 degrees cooler .
Cardboard would be soaked wet quite quickly.
I have never read anywhere that a cardboard box is recommended for ducks. But i can tell you from experience how wet it will be after the first day
