Need advice.... I have a silkie, probably 8 weeks old or so, who hurt her leg... I think. I bought a flock of silkies and put them in a coop that has a ladder from the run going into the coop above. I think she must have fallen off the ladder. Anyway, I saw her laying there on Sunday kind of weird so I brought her in, cleaned her up so I could see better and saw that her thigh area was pretty swollen. I put her in a plastic tub on paper towels with food and water. She had been on Corid for a week already so I started nutridrench in her water. I also used the save a pet packets. I thought she would be getting better but she is just laying there. She was eating and drinking fine until last night. She is eating and drinking but not as much. This morning I made her an egg and she knocked the bowl over but hasn't eaten much at all. She feels a bit warm and is just laying there all fluffed up. When I picker up to try to look at her leg she kind of freaks out. I put her down and she's like falling bc she can't stand on her leg... i guess. Should I try an antibiotic? I have Tylan 50 and Oxytetracycline. I attached a video... hopefully someone will have some advice for me. Can't get her to a vet until Saturday when the poultry vet is nearby.

You were treating with Corid - did she have Cocci, what dosage did you use?

Swelling of the thigh and tender to the touch could mean that it's dislocated. Silkies can also be susceptible to head injury if they fall because they have a hole in their skull. Try to keep her hydrated and offer her wet chick starter.

Hopefully the vet can take a look to see if there is anything broken or dislocated. Keep us posted.
