I need help feeding

I don't have quail yet, but I am soon getting a few jumbo coturnix quail eggs, and I don't know what to feed them when they hatch.
I have no stores near me that will sell game bird starter, and i don't know why because i live in a pretty rural place, and i'm sure not going to pay $70 to get some shipped over here. I've found some chick starter, can i feed the quail that along with cat food and other things with protein instead of gamebird feed?

the chick feed would also have to be shipped here, it's just way cheaper.

Not sure where your located.

But if there any elevators that sell feed they should be able to get it for you.

If you find the right person at tsc,orschlens, or any farm supply store most have a catalog they can order from that you can get delivered when they make other feed orders.

If they can do it. It will reduce shipping.

As far as mixing chick starter with a protein base would be ok as long as proportions are correct.

I saw a video on YouTube where the blended feed with floating catfish food for a protein boost. Put it all thru a blender.

Southern states near me didn't have a bird feed high enough in protein (21%). I found 24% at Treactor supply co. I hear you have to grind the feed to a powder for newly hatchedeveloped chicks. Good luck!
