I need help NOW!!!

Okay im kinda calmed down now i can give the details... its realy red and the first layer of skin the layer you see on chickens in food lion the nice pale pink skin is like peeled off not like dead skin like somone sliced her top layer and just pulled. It was realy dirty so i think there was bleeding involved. All feathers around the wound are gone and she stays in a safe roomy pen with the others no punture wounds she can walk if i make her stand she just looks realy tired...

Sounds like maybe a dog grabbed her by the back end(?)

She should be able to recover. Just keep her safe, warm, and calm. Read the thread about how to help a shock-y chicken. She's made it this far, and that's a positive thing.

Sending good positive thoughts.

I recommend cleaning the wound out with betadine diluted with warm water. Then like Higins00 stated, put neosporin on it. Tomorrow, try to give her some plain yogurt mixed with boiled egg mixed in her feed to make a mash. You want to try to get her immune system built up as well as protein levels to fend off possible infections. You might have to use an eyedropper to give her water to drink and hand feed her the mash. Keep her warm as best as you can. Time will heal her. Please tell us know how she turns out.

Yes,it was an ordeal for you and I sympathasize. I consider all mine as pets and would be hurt also if something terrible happened to one of them.Sorry for your loss.

So sorry to hear this. If the injuries were not life threatening it was the greater enemy that took her - shock and stress. It can be quite the project to keep them from succumbing to this and it's not always possible. Very sad.
