I need help - What Gender do I have and can you confirm breed?

Hello, new to chicken raising - I have 4 Marans (sp??) and think I have at least 2 roosters - certainly sounds that way. They are about 3 months old, I was "guaranteed 95%" that they are hens....hmmm....not


so sure since I hear crowing in the morning

looks like it could be Maran to me... Lot of Maran's can be sexed at birth, by the color of their fluff and "SPOT" on their heads. this First photo (chick in back with curved tail feathers) appears to be a Roo.
If you hear crowing, then yes you have a Roo

if you could please take a photo of Each Maran (head shot and body with tail shot)...then it would be easier to help you out.... Also number them (ie. chick1, chick2 and so on)

I think I see one pullet, not sure with the pics.

I see one pullet in the first pic to the right. It's difficult to tell about the others from those pics, but I definitely see at least two. I have a feeling, based on the color of the feathering on the fourth in the first pic that you have three cockerals and one hen.

I have two cuckoo maran hens without leg feathering. Many types are bred for the eggs and not so much the type. I know a few breeders around here who mostly want the dark eggs and don't really care so much about leg feathering.
