I need help with a rooster ASAP!!

Oh yes hunting something I did a lot of when I was young and something I had to do to feed the family but now I feed my boys from what we raise in the yard for the consumption of the house hold ............ It just isn't as easy to go hunting as it was 40 years ago ......... gander007

I know what you mean. Nothing is as easy as it was even 15 years ago. Age kind of creeps up on you then tries to just run right over you! lol But if I had to go find something to eat I could do it. I was talking to a family member yesterday about raising some chickens and rabbits to eat. They said they couldn't do the slaughter part. I said, "Bull crap! Sometimes our own grandmother for one, would get up on Sunday morning, go catch and kill a chicken, dress it and cook it for the family for breakfast THEN see that everybody was ready for church and be there on time!" We have just got extremely soft! lol

Oh that is so true and that is one of the reasons I make sure my children and Grandchildren
learn some of the basic skills of survival or self sustainability but yet when doing something
as simple as teaching my younger boys to shoot about ten years ago their mother took it to
court to put a stop to the whole thing and after the Judge told me that it was something that
was not important for youngsters to and that it was dangerous ...... Could you imagine that
and cutting fire wood was dangerous as was learning to trap animals ........
And to raise animals to slater for the table might wound the young boys minds and causing
them to harbor inter hostilities for later in life ya that is our courts but the funny part is it is
alright ror a young man to sit and play games on the x Box for day's on end .....
Wow has the world changed but I can't always say for the better ..........

Quick update. "Russell Crow took a one way ticket to Freezer City. He did another attack on me 3 days ago. Three strikes you're out.

End of story. I'm grateful for the education, not only from him, and my flock, but from all of your input. Rehab doesn't work. It's just in the genes. Unfortunate.

I sure do agree on that. This world has gone crazy! Good golly, shooting is an Olympic sport! And how the heck does that judge think all that meat died that got on his plate! I think the majority of the people don't even consider that all that meat we eat was a living breathing thing that had to die! And they think that they can sit all day every day on these games and blow people to pieces yet it is so disturbing to kill an animal...? LOL Good for you for actually teaching your kids something of use! A whole lot of parents don't teach their kids much of anything. They just seem to be glad that they are vegging out on some game box and not bothering them. Sad. My mama bought me a shotgun when I was ten so I would go kill her some rabbits. LOL And I had enough experience with guns by then that I didn't even need any supervision doing so. "The powers that be" of today would probably have locked most parents up back then. LOL
