KHumm kind of strange but hopefully preening will come soon. There really isn't anything you can do but wait it out. When my Muscovy had wet feather she looked pitiful even when dry her feathers just did not look good. If you can pick one up gently run your finger over the oil gland to test for oiliness.

Warm compresses can help this is what I did for my Muscovy I used a wash cloth dipped into nice warm water then squeezed it out so it wasn't running all over and laid it on the oil gland took a few days but it got it going.I think it her oil gland is blocked but every time I try to remove it she screams
What are you trying to remove? is it like a scab? if so the warm water on the wash cloth should soften it up. I don't think I would be picking at it. When morning comes try and get some pictures.Should I remove it ?
