Welcome to BYC - sorry to hear about your duckling.

Do the joints bend at all?

I can appreciate some of the swelling you're noticing, but what's most prominent is the rotation of the intertarsal leg joint; you can really see the bone junction sticking out the side, which it wouldn't in a normal case. There are several musculoskeletal deformities in poultry (exp, niacin deficiency, perosis, varus-valgus, TB) all of which have varying etiologies, but from a general standpoint can be due to injury, incubation malposition, genetics, or a vitamin-related deficit.

Considering the rotation, the prognosis for this bird may be considered poor as far as recovery without a vet. If the legs are manipulatable, I would attempt to implement a bandage/splint to correct further angulation of the legs. Additionally, I would start the bird on a broad range poultry vitamin (can be obtained at your feed store) daily, and hopefully, that will prove beneficial as well. Letting the bird swim in warm water twice a day may help at relieving inflammation in the leg.

Ok awesome I started doing all of that last night the swelling did seem to go down substantially after she whent swimming it’s just the twist so I did give her a splint so hoping for the best she’s not in any pain and she was walking mostly fine and swimming eating and drinking on her own so hoping

So took a look at her leg they do bed as normal she can streach get up walk around with almost no trouble she just wables with walking that’s how I noticed but the joint gose back to its normal setting when she lays down that’s why I think splinting it will help train it back definitely Dosent seem broken just twisted
