I need mille advice here..mille fleur araucana? Added Pics Pg2

Our Millies start out light coloring do not get coloring till much older some after first molt. Also even when Garfield jumps the fence all mixes come out with feathered feet. She is a very pretty chick keep us updated.

I realize the plumage changes a lot over time, however our mille fleur pyncheon are mille colored with their first plumage, as you can see by the 6 week old chick pictured. That doesn't change much until after their first moult. Could this araucana be feathering similar to those and showing the color early? Katy's pic of speckled sussex already show some of the coloring as well in young birds. I'm not sure what some of you mean by the color won't come in until later. Can you explain that more?

Saw those pictures, they looked alot like your little eh? Never had a pyncheon so maybe, it is a very nice looking bird.
Anyway all we have hatched from our Millie Fleurs have been tanish color till moult. Not sure why, when we first hatched we thought we had some plain colored millies but hey they where are little prides LOL. Anyway here is a picture of a our rooster and his chick (all the way on the left of cage) we hatched out. The middle is a banty cochin, chick in front is a NH, phoenix mix.

Here is a picure of the hen.

Cant figure out though or give you a idea why the colors dont come in till moult, maybe hormones?/.
Anyone else know as I would also like to know????

PQ, Thanks for the pic's & i see what you mean, as we had a hen that also was very similar, but after breeding them for some time(a few years with them) the color has been coming on much much earlier in our chicks and we see it very early on now in them.,

is it a possible incomplete mille type to start then changing to full ..However the hen pictured ultimately got her nice pattern in her first molt as well as some of the cockerels we had that looked similar to this particular pullet..
Here's her pic..

Oh my gosh she is lovely! I love the top notch! We have only been hatching out for a little less the 2 years. How old are your birds? I would love to see the colors quicker, though it is fun to see what you may get as time goes on, keeps me from hatching more to quickly because that is really fun LOL. We have the dinning room turned into a hatch and brooder room and boy when you have the room its easy to keep going

Would love to have some with that top notch though.. hummmm maybe time to start looking for our next breed:p Have a great night, thanks for the picure and info.

Thanks PQ, Some of our oldest stock birds are about 3 years old, however we have some 4 generations from our breedings and selection with them. the 6-1/2 week olds are the 4 gens, still much to be done with them..but all is going very well with them.

They are one of most laid back bantams Ive ever encountered, very mellow birds..

I finally got some pictures. This first guy was very Mille Fleur colored as a chick.

This next guy was not so striking as a chick and has matured with an almost RSY breast pattern.

I'll probably breed from both experimentaly because of their overall type and the nice tight well shapped Pea Combs.
