im not sure what happened. she had spraddle leg when she hatched but that was fixed with 3 days in a hobble. then she was fine. a few weeks ago it slowly started to bend to the outside. some one mentioned ricketts so ive been treating her for that but it seems to be geeting much worse. im afraid that she is going to break her leg trying to run around it like that.

I suspect a slipped tendon. I had one like that. I tried everything. She didn't make it, but she looked a lot more crooked than yours. I suspect a slipped tendon because the joint looks swollen and flat. I don't know a lot about it. I hope somebody has better advise.

i tried the band aid brace but it didnt work b/c the leg it turning at the joint and it still bends out with the brace. how can i tell if it a slipped tendon?

With a slipped tendon the hock will look flat in the back when bent. It should look more like your elbow. I made a brace once of doubled over pipe cleaners to sit on either side of the tendon and used therapy tape to keep it on, that way I could hold the leg in the normal slightly bent position. For me the tendon stayed in but the bone actually started to grow curved and she developed a hock infection and had to be put down. Good luck.

i googled it but couldn't find any picuters but it said that the chicken should be put into a sling to keep the weight off of the hock. dose any one know how to make a sling to hold up a chicken?
