I want to thank everyone for all of their prayers and well wishes.
I am at the vet now picking him up. It took me 5 days to find a vet that would help us.
He had one testicle removed and is on antibiotics for a while .
The vet said she couldn't believe how good he was doing.
Prayers work!
Thank you all again
This is such an encouraging story to share.
I don't understand this tendency for trained, professional, educated DOCTORS of animal medicine to recommend euthanasia. They are turning their backs on research and the testimony of others who said no to the easy road, stood up and fought for a little animal's life, and the creature friend survived!
If it's a cat or dog, they'll often do what they can. But for smaller animals vets don't "specialize" and "don't really know" and despite similar anatomies aren't willing to go there.
Thank you for setting a beautiful example of what can happen when you thumb your nose to an authoritative voice and take on your animal friend's healing yourself.
A bunny is kind of off topic in a chicken forum, really.Yes, it is sad! Unfortunately, it’s a growing trend, and not just among animals. My husband is a Dr and he is seeing a growing trend among some other Docs to do the same with older people. As a nurse, I’ve noticed the same. It seems like some medical professionals view older people as having lived a long life and need to save resources for the younger generation. Medicare is starting to deny some testing and treatment to the people who have paid into the system their whole life, just to save money. It’s all very sad!
(My apologies for getting a little off topic!)
