They are chicken and I seem to think so the kids say no but I think they are just hopeful but not 100 % sure

Hi, welcome to BYC! :frow

What are you hatching? Is your bator starting to stink?

That far apart... might call it quits... BIG difference in vitality of birds hatched later than others.

they are chickens and i think so the kids say it does not but i think it is wishful thinking that they will have more new little ones.

Post edited. Originally, the bold word was Liability!!!

It's hard to call it quits when there is still a chance of viability. At this point, that's doubtful. But, this is what I'd do: carefully, remove each egg one at a time. Give it a sniff test. Candle it, looking for signs of life. Tap on the shell and cluck at it. Best to do this when there are no witnesses. I've been called crazy for doing less certifiable things before. If no audible signs of life, you can do a float test. I honestly have very little faith in the float test, but... you have nothing to loose. Finally, if no signs of life, carefully open the air cell, again checking for signs of life. Do not break the membrane until you are certain the chick is dead. Then you can do an eggtopsy to see if you can determine cause of death. With this many failures, I would do so.

Or. You can unplug the bator, bury the eggs in the garden, then sterilize the bator. You might want to check your thermometer calibration since you got hatches on day 19.

LG said it well. :thumbsup

Left over hatch stuff from the early birds will be stinking by now if it hasn't been removed. :sick

Your thermometer must also be off. You probably need to calibrate or add more measuring devices.. unless the eggs weren't perfectly fresh and somehow had some development already. And move the eggs around to make up for hot or cool spots and to ensure even development next time. If that wasn't done, would be one reason why I might not pull the plug immediately... but only if I could see ACTIVE external pips (personally). Not too MUCH hope this late. Not the worst hatch I've seen from first timers. Lots of things effect hatch.

I would say time to move on and focus on the new life that has already began! (after following LG suggestion). :wee
