I need to know the gender

Hi I'm new and I have chicks that are about 2 days old and I would like to know how to determine the gender.

What breed are they?
if they are not an auto sexing breed you will need to wait til about 8 weeks old.

Hi and welcome to BYC. Unless bred specifically to be sexed at hatch, it's normally not possible to determine gender at such a young age.

Oh ok my silkie hatched both of the chicks

Are the chicks silkies, sI like mixes or other breeds or mixes? That will play into when gender will be apparent and what characteristics will indicate it

The mom was a silkie but the dad was a Rhode Island Red it looks like both the chicks are silkies because they have a little bit of fur on their legs
