I'm sorry to say that this won't be your only encounter with an ump like that. For every bad one you'll have that many more good ones. My advice would be, when you come across an ump, ref, official (depending on the sport you're in), like that prove them wrong. Show them how good you are. My kids get upset all the time about calls and I tell them the same thing.

Yep, baseball is a contact sport, the ball often contacts the player. Handy tip, make sure the batting helmets fit well.
