I need to take a pill or something

I had a pekin hatch a few months ago that had strange down at the back of its head and neck. It fell off after a day and she was bald until her feathers grew in. Not too sure what caused that. It was a different condition than what I have everseen before. I have seen them hatch with the feather folicle on the outside of the skin too- which is weird. I am still trying to find out exactly what it is that causes that.

Their wings are so tiny at this stage- it may be ok in a day or so after being so cooped up in the egg- but if not- just watch out for angel wing as it starts to grow its feathers later. It sounds like a little fighter- and after a difficult hatch - it may need a little more time to regain strength.

Only my last little surprise one to go now in my hatcher - So I hope it makes it out ok...just like I hope you other two will. It would be nice for Fred to have some friends- he may stop annoying the dog when he has some female company.

All eight of my ducks, runners and blue swedish had bald spots when they hatched. very scary looking, but meant nothing as they are all fully feathered and healthy now! the bald spots were all down the back of the head neck and back. and mine took 3 days each to get out of the egg. the first on day 29 , the last on day 32! Good luck!
