I need urgent help please.

Are the coffee bandages still on? I was thinking, and wouldn't it be possible for her to absorb caffeine from them? Might be a good idea to remove coffee bandages...

"Caffeine causes cardiac malfunction in birds and is associated with increased heartbeat, arrhythmia, hyperactivity, and cardiac arrest."
I'm afraid if I remove them the foot will bleed again . :( it's been 24 hours now , do you think it has stopped ? and if it bleeds again , what should I put on the wound other than coffee ?

If I had to pick the one thing on BYC that has helped me the most It would be this picture. No contest.

That picture has probably save many birds. Many thanks to Hopkins Peafowl for that picture and the article it was posted in. http://www.hopkinslivestock.com/oral_dosing_article.htm

I don't know what would be worse... absorbing caffeine or bleeding more. Do you have corn starch?

Someone earlier suggested powdered corn starch. Also apply pressure to the area that is bleeding. Good luck

You could try that. When you packed it, did you use a no stick pad? If not, I would suggest soaking the foot in warm water before trying to remove the pad. A pad that's stuck to her wound will probably cause it to bleed again. Make sense?
