I am looking to purchase two hens, but it seems that when you buy from an online hatchery, you can only get them shipped in larger quantities. WHere could I go to get just a few baby chicks?

Thanks!

Try a feed store or a local breeder. Also Meyer Hatchery has a minimum of only 3 chicks.

You should post the area you located. Then maybe someone from your area will respond that may have some for sale.

Alright, well I'm in West Lafayette, Indiana, if that means anything to anyone out there

nature's hatchery ships as low as 2 chicks. Go to there site, they have a pretty wide selection.

Croy Creek Swap Meet is next sunday morning and it is straight down 231 S to US 40, turn right and go until you see the signs on the Putnam/Clay county line. You can find all kinds of hens there. We live not far from here, but raise waterfowl, so we can't help you. Its probably an hour and 15 minutes or so from you. (but I know there are several chicken breeders in your county, and if you look on craigslist, you might be able to find some right there close to town. If that doesn't work, there is a woman just north of Crawfordsville that has several breeds I can hook you up with her info it you like. I belive she is on here. Shari McCollough.
