I ordered chicks for the first time...

My chicks shipped out Monday too, but as of noon, they have not arrived at my po.

The thought of my little chicks sitting somewhere until Friday is just heartbreaking. Only a miracle can save them from dehyrdration, starvation, or freezing. Needless to say, if they don't arrive today, it will be a somber Thanksgiving in my heart this year.

Oh no! That's what I was afraid of happening to mine. I hope they show up somewhere tonight. Did you try calling the PO and explaining the situation to see if there's anyway to track them down? Maybe if they can find them some kind postal worker would give them some water at least.

Wildflowers your chicks are so cute! Your cat has beautiful markings, I love the bright orange spots. (We have four cats, my husband says I'm a cat lady.

) It looks like your kids are enjoying the chicks! My two year old daughter had a major melt down when I told her the chicks had to rest, she tends to squeeze them a bit too hard while trying to love on them.

I called my po just before closing this afternoon....still no chicks. And just as I had suspected, they do not get any deliveries tomorrow. So wherever those babies are, I do hope someone has some compassion and at least gives them something to drink. Actually, I keep telling myself that maybe someone just took them home because they knew they wouldn't be delivered to me before the holiday. In a way, that makes me feel better than to think of them sitting in a warehouse somewhere suffering.

Thanks Andora. Actually, the chicks belong to both myself and Miss_Jayne. I'm praying for the best, but I just don't think that they can survive their first 4 days of life without nourishment. All I'm going to be able to think about tomorrow is how I'm going to handle going to the po Friday morning and picking up a box full of dead babies. It's going to be horrific. I just hope that it doesn't traumatize me to the point of never being able to order chicks again.

On my way to the grocery store this morning, I turned on my cell phone and guess what? I had a message from A post office 60+ miles from my home telling me that they had my chicks! This post office is the main hub where all the mail in my area is delivered to first. It is then dispatched from there.

Praise the Lord for my good friend and partner in this order Miss_Jayne! Her absolutely wonderful DH drove to that po and picked up the babies. They were all alive and peeping! I haven't seen them yet, but I'm going to go to her house tomorrow to get mine.

But believe me, by the time I'm finished filing complaints at my local po and calling the usps with my verbal complaints, someone's going to be held accountable. I just feel that with priority mail, live animals such as this should be prioritized over EVERYTHING else in the deliveries. This is completely unacceptable.

I am, however, so happy that someone had the decency to call and let me know where they were. In my many complaints that I will be dealing out, I do intend to disclose that I am not upset whatsoever with this particular PO. I feel they actually did what was right and in the best interest of my chicks.

Sorry this was so long....just had to vent a little.
