I ordered from McMurray, they shipped March 30th!!!!!I am so excited!!! Anybody have chicks arriving

Hope your new chicks all arrive safe and sound! Yes, I have chicks - 80 of them! I ordered 50
from Meyer Hatchery ( my favorite as I always get good quality birds from them ) all but one made
it - came two weeks ago - and I hatched out 31 eggs from our own laying birds so have 5 of the
huge clear tubs set up in my house with the red heat lamps - 16 chicks per tub - so far so good!

Enjoy your new babies!

Mine shipped from McMurray 3/30 and we got a phone call this morning. They were at the sorting facility and we drove to pick them up earlier today. We were very surprised they arrived so fast! We live in PA. They were all happy and full of energy.

Thanks for all the well wishes, I don't think I will be able to sleep tonight!! Loudfrog, I can't believe they called you on Easter Sunday, I am so jealous!! I will let u know how it goes!

If I may,
When you get these chicks they will most likely be travel stressed. Please see the thread on this 'Raising Chicks' Forum titled, "How To Deal With Travel Stress In Baby Chicks". It will explain how you can help avoid the effects of Stress on your chicks..

I received the call from the post office this morning!!! I picked up the chickens and took them to work with me! I had a tote, heat lamp and every else I needed. I open the box and everyone was alive and chirping loudly!

I showed each one were the water was and dipped their beaks in it. They were very thirsty. Two of them were acting funny. One was my Polish. It tripped and half fell in the water. I picked it up and put her on a dry section of paper towel. It layed there for a minute totally stiff like it was dying. Finally after some sugar water it perked back up. I bought the grogel McMurrays sells, but I thought it went in the water. It goes on the food. I grabbed a sugar packet in my desk drawer and mixed it with water. I had even had the forethought to bring an eye dropper with me. The Second chick was panting for a few minutes, but is fine now. It was quite an event for every one at work. They loved seeing the baby chicks.

I cannot believe how well they are all doing now! I am impressed about McMurray and the quality of their chicks!
