I predilled- screws STILL won't go all the way in!

I lube my screws by rubbing them against an old bar of soap. corded drills give you more power, but it's also easier to burn them out, to say nothing of the frustration of trying to remove a misplaced, completely stripped 3 and a half inch screw.
 
we just recrntly dealt with this issue when building our coop. Your drill is not powerful enough, or your batteries are no good. We had to go out and pick up a new one 18V with lithium batteries worked like a charm and we no longer have to put pressure to drill all the screws in!!
 
Yes phillips head screws will strip in the blink of an eye. For longer length screws, or if I'm using hard wood, I ONLY use Torx headed screws (the 6-pointed star) I have yet to strip a screw. I have stripped a bit though, using a corded drill.
