Flamepaw looked down at Darkkit and nodded. “Even the kit will come before any of you lift a claw. Darkkit go gay some good for me and you. We leave at dawn.”

Lift a claw? Can't he see that I am trying to get a Deputy and somehow heal cats without a medicine cat, and become leader and bury the dead and keep the clan together? And this one cat matters so much I half to chase her across the countryside? "Ok, so can somebody just be deputy for one whole day so I can become leader and organize all this stuff?" Auburnleaf said.

Silverwing looked up and nodded. “I’m not like my sisters. I’ll stand in as acting deputy if you wish.” She dips her head and waits for a response.

"You can't take him with you!" Jadeheart said. "It's too dangerous." She curled her tail around him possessively.
"But I want to find mommy!" Darkkit said.
"No, honey, you can't" Jadeheart cooed.

Flamepaw looks at Auburnleaf and hisses, “You don’t deserve to be leader! You let these cats drive out Emberfeather and Lunastar! I hate this clan and I hate you Auburnleaf! Darkkit we’re leaving now!”

Silverwing looked up and nodded. “I’m not like my sisters. I’ll stand in as acting deputy if you wish.” She dips her head and waits for a response.

Auburnleaf nodded. "It's settled! I head for the Moontree, tonight, no matter what happens!"

Flamepaw glared at Jadeheart and mewed, “Dangerous? You didn’t care when it was Emberfeather that left! He comes with me, end of discussion!”

Silverwing looked at Auburnleaf and mewed, “Thank you, I am not a worthy cat but I can act as deputy for a day while you are gone.”

"First of all, he is a kit, and second of all, I did ask her. She didn't listen. She'll listen to you. Not Darkkit. I can't let him come. He's too small." Jadeheart said.
"But I want to go!"
"But Flamepaw is fueled by anger and emotion right now. She'll calm down, and realize I was right. Right now I need you and your siblings here, with me."

“No you don’t! He comes with me! Why do you suddenly care about that kit so much?” She grabbed Darkkit by the scruff and carried him away from Jadeheart. She put him by her paws and waited for him to ask to stay. “I hope you’re happy with what you caused Jadeheart. Come on Darkkit.”
