Diamond saw a strange ginger cat enter her territory and snarled. “Stranger go away!”


Emberfeather looked at her and mewed, “You look thin, want me to hunt for you?”



Surprised by the offer, Diamond mewed, “Yes, that would be lovely actually. Me and my kits are starving. Our twolegs kicked is out and I can’t hunt.”

Emberfeather bounded away and brought back a mouse and squirrel. “She gave them to Diamond and mewed, “I come from the clans, ours could take you in.”
 
Sprucetail smiled to himself. Maybe Willowfern actually liked him after all!
“We are almost there,” he said, passing through a grove of spindly wild cherry trees. “I hope you don’t mind the wet marsh.”
 
Diamond blinked and mewed, “You can’t be a clan cat, they’re mean cats who eat kittypets like me for breakfast.” She was surprised and remembered the rumors spread by the other kittypets.

Icepaw mewed, “Let me try.” He licked her pad and grabbed it with his teeth. He yanked it out hard.
 
Honeycloud saw Galefeather struggling and growing at something on her paw.
“Are you trying to eat yourself?” She laughed. “You must learn to respect your body and love yourself for who you are!”
Then she noticed Icepaw pull out the thorn.
