"She's my kin, I can do what I like." Silverwing was unussually angry and she snapped even at her leader.


Luna nodded her head and asked, "May I sleep in a nest in the woods for tonight? I am not hungry but, I won' make it home. I won't stay in camp."

Lightpaw shrieked and jumped back in surprise and anguish. She was about to lash back at Silverwing but Sprucetail jumped in the way. "Hey! Knock it off!" He snapped. "Both of you. Fighting is not going to make anything better off." He glared at Lightpaw, then at Silverwing, their bodies still trembling with hatred. He shot a quick glance at Willowfern.
"Will you take Lightpaw please? She needs something to keep her busy. I will deal with Silverwing."

Willowfern nodded and took her to play with the two newest clan kits.
 
Sprucetail sensed her sadness and anger.
"Listen to me. You're not in trouble. I just have something important to say." He stopped and thought of what he would say.
"I know it's hard to go through this. I know that others in this Clan still think differently. But just because someone says something rude, does not mean you should claw them in the ears." He gave his signature upset laugh. He saw Silverwing's eyes flash and continued.
"Don't blame Lightpaw too much...she's Emberfeather's kit. She was just as affected by this as you are. But she needs to learn to show that in a different way." Sprucetail paused again. "You are a strong young Warrior. A good one too. You were a great mentor to Honeycloud, I know she looks up to you. So I know you can do better than claw an apprentice." Sprucetail sat by her a moment more. "Do you promise not to do that any more?"

SIlverwing nodded and pushed her claws into the ground. Something of understanding went through her and she stopped.
