Moonspots was normally calm, collected and sensible but at Fallingrain's flaming she snapped. Who would even dare to hate on her friend!

“Right now, she’s punishing a cat who was in grief for his sister and mothers. That’s not just or fair.” Silverwing yowled.

Puddlekit poked her head out of the nursery. "Come on" She dragged Sheepkit by the tail to the den entrance. "Quit being a wimp! Come spy with me!"

"Hey, I wanna' go too!" Dustkit whined.

Icepaw stood up and mewed, “I’ll take the punishment if Nightpaw gets punished for provoking me...”

"What are we to do? We can't well put her in the apprentice den with you," Auburnstar said. "I suppose someone can make a suggestion?"

Finchstripe gave Jadeheart a nod, telling her to help Fallingrain to the warrior's den.

Jadeheart did, and comforted him in their nest.

"Maybe you need to go to the warriors den," Jadeheart said with a sad smile. "Flamepaw will bring Emberfeather back. I know it. You are under a lot of stress now, maybe making opinions right now aren't the right thing." She sat next to him.

Fallingrain looked up and looked back down. He crumpled to the floor and mewed, “Flamepaw won’t come back, the rats in twolegplace probably killed her and Dropspring. Emberfeather also, there vicious creatures. I met them as an apprentice when I went there and they almost killed me.” He broke down on the ground again.

Finchstripe spoke up. "For now, Icepaw, you can take your little rest in the apprentice den. She nudged him forward. "Sorry, furball." she breathed in a small whisper only he could hear. She gave him a wink to ensure no hard feelings.

Silverwing called up, “Elder duty for a moon!”

Honeycloud heard Fallingrain coming into the den. That would be awkward. Even more so since she was crying too. And you don't even have a reason to, stupid! She thought of herself. You didn't lose you mentor, your siblings didn't run away. Except for Dropspring. Oh, I hope he is safe!
Deep down inside, she knew there was a reason.
