I promised terrie, but...I got it!

I'm following this intently, Kat. You have a right to have the drug that works best for you and if the effects of the one you are taking is too much LIE THROUGH YOUR TEETH!

Have you tried state programs? We have a "state hospital" here. You can apply for a discount and depending on your income you get a discount on care AND prescriptions.

I get 100% discount there along with the medicaid I have. My prescriptions are VERY cheap thru their pharmacy at the hospital, if not FREE!

Here, you can use the "discount" and still have other coverage.

I don't know if you have this available there, but it's certainly worth a try!

I appreciate y'alls continued support. Right now I'm running on fumes. I couldn't sleep last night. The neurontin does that to me too; makes it impossible for me to sleep. I ended up taking a sleeping pill at 4 AM, but still had to get up to tend the animals at 7. DH worked until 3 AM so I'm trying to let him sleep in a bit. DSD just called with one of her emergencies, so we'll have to tend to that as soon as DH gets up, but I will find time to call the drug manufacturer today. I'm not hopeful because I've already checked out their website and which drugs they do offer help with, but it never hurts to try.

I just got off the phone with the drug company. They have no programs to help me.
I have a call into my rheumatologists office. This substitute med. is not only not helping, it's making me feel horrible. DH is encouraging me to stop taking it NOW rather than continuing to take it for a couple of weeks and hoping that things will get better.

Drug compaies annoy the crap outta me....they should stop all this ridiculous advertising...TV and print ads both. The ED commercials and birth control ads are particularly annoying. You would think that the American population had it's head in it's pants all the time....If they would stop advertising...and pandering they could lower their prices...AARRGGHH!!

I'm with Debi....do whatever you have to do!

Have you tried private venues Kat? Churches? Clubs? Civic Organizations? I know its can be humbling but thats what they are there for. Rotary is another one and Kiwanis.

Keep your chin up sweetie. We're pulling for ya.

What's sad is that you'll see all these ads from the drug companies, with their long list of "possible side effects" and then a few months to a few years later, you'll start seeing the personal injury lawyer ads for those same drugs.

Maybe the insurance company would understand better in terms of allowing the medication which is the only thing that is working or instead pay the numerous hospital visits from not having proper medication????

Hang in there and hope it gets sorted out for you soon! Just keep fighting and do not give up!

I agree with your DH. I wouldn't take a drug if it's making you feel worse. Also, not being able to sleep can seriously pull your immune system down quickly and that can set you up for all kinds of colds and flu illnesses. I really hope you can find something that works and start feeling better ASAP!

Keep up that Vitamin D and try the 1,000 mg. Lysine.

The doctor's office called a lil while ago and they took me off the neurontin. They haven't decided what to put me on next. They'll let me know.
When I first started taking the new med and was doing so well on it my internist took me off of darvocet and flexeril (good ol' standbys for when nothing else helps). So now I have tylenol to help until they figure out which drug that want to give this guinea pig for the next round. Can't take NSAIDs, so tylenol it is.
