And that history showed no attack but the OP even admitted they still acted nervous. And at 7 months old still figuring things out. Perhaps the nervous behavior was too much of a trigger.

Yep, a nervous keeper with tiny kids......not a good place for a male bird.

If it's in a closed run and not free ranging than the kids can be kept away. My little one has learned to keep a safe distance from my BJG, and ALL kids should be kept away from a roo until the child is older and the roo's disposition is learned.

Huh. I take an entirely different approach. I actively encourage my toddler to chase all of the roosters, as often as he wants. If he gets the stink eye or one wrong move from one of them that bird becomes dinner. Haven't had any kind of a problem yet.

I am all for caution with kids and roosters, keeping the kiddos safe is always key. Especially with birds who are confined, I could see how they could become aggressive more easily.

Considering my BJG comes up to my daughter's chest I'm not surprised she is cautious, though the two are slowly warming up to each other. She does fine with my Faverolles roo and BLR Wyandotte cockerel. But what I love is that she is always asking and wanting to learn.

Your "relationship" is that he's treating you like another chicken below him in the pecking order. Get rid of him. Not ALL roosters behave this way.
