I ran from my rooster

Pics
I have the opposite experience. I've never been attacked by an older rooster, but hormonal Cockerels always seem to get me.

I just related my experience to demonstrate that it's not only cockerels that can be a problem. It's possible that he had begun to intimidate my Kid, who had been caring for the chickens, and had become aggressive without my knowledge.

Ok, I’m a chicken. I’ll admit it.
It started inside the coop where he blocked me from walking out of the coop. So I went all the way around the pin to attempt to walk around him, but he moved towards me and got closer. I didn’t see much of a threat because he was pecking at the ground ( later learning they do this to pretend they aren’t watching you)
So I walked past him and he got mad! He charged after me. I wasn’t expecting it and instantly got scared. I tried to stand my ground and face him, but he charged me again. I was walking backwards, tripped a Little and spilled two cartoons of eggs. Some landed on him and that really made him mad and he charged me again. I regret this next part completely but did it totally in fear. I was in our field d and had nothing to defend myself with so I threw eggs at him. Yikes. !! That made it even worse. I ended up running away

I was so scared. But then I thought what did I just do to our relationship. ?!! I didn’t wanna be attacked and i am clearly a chicken to not stand my ground. I fear I’ve ruined the relationship. And honestly I’m scared of him now.
thoughts or tips? I feel it’s almost best to rehome him. I have littles to. So I def. don’t want them attacked
as the parent of 7 roosters in teenage mode and hormones flowing separated from hens if you wish to rehome your rooster he is welcome at my home in wyoming

You guys are so nice. A mean rooster just outrages me. It seems to run in lines—my daughter just had two beautiful blue Plymouth Rocks I had to dispatch for her. The first was intolerable, and we assumed the second wouldn't be, but he started attacking her children not long after the first male was gone.

But my policy is to eat them, no matter how pretty, if they are mean. I keep going until we get a nice one. It never occurred to me to try to tame and change them because it's so ingrained. I knew a fellow who succeeded at that, many years ago, but I never found out what he did. So it's not impossible, I guess.

Certainly is possible. Helped calm my giant hormonal buddy who is now shaping up to be a fine BJG. Most everyone else probably would have killed him the moment he began challenging us, and would have deprived the poultry world of a fine young fella. My Faverolles roo was gonna be in the pot for attacking his previous host, however he has been nothing but a gentleman around us.

My BJG can challenge us, but I will never put them in a stew pot! They're too amazing! People know not to mess with them when they come over. It's not like they can sneak up on you with their big clumsy feet!
