I really could use some sound advice....

Laurie39, the best time to tell is when they are first hatched because as with any baby all the blood or half seems to be in the lower areas of the body for development and I am sure you have seen a new born child and after a few hours all the blood dissipates but just before that there is no mistake well all animals are the same this way so the best time to sex them is at the beginning of the hatch or wait till about week 12 most chicks it starts to become obvious ......

Alright my friends, I'm back looking for advice. I just had a chick who pipped and did not zip for 34 hours, so I went in and began to help it. He's doing fine BUT he has a gimp leg. It was caught up in the membrane and now he's dragging it behind him. He was due to hatch on Saturday so I kinda figured something would be wrong when he hatched. What to do?
