I think hen hormones might've played a part in it, too. Usually I can collect every other day without a population explosion. This spring was an exception to that rule. Sure is cute hearing all the peeping and momma's talking. A lot of stress trying to make sure eb\\verything is 'baby-proofed' though.

Chicks on the counter? I could NEVER get away with that!!

Chicks aren't on teh counter, they are in a box on teh couch! The eggs are on the counter. And you know what, I just saw I spelled the wrong again - and I ain't correcting it. That's right oh great gods of the keyboard, I' am not correcting it!!!

tut tut, you all are still splorting around? I have tons of produce to decide what to do with in the kitchen. So the BYC called me. (Yoo-hoo c'mere little girl)....must...go...process..vegi...ta...bles....

I am so glad I do not have chicks on the sofa, counter and where ever...they'd probably get canned.
I have this 'don't want to deal with all that cooking blues, I might even go out and clear dew berries out from under the blueberries. That is serious procrastination because I hate doing that, so I must hate the idea of bushels of vegetables worse.
SO WHY DO I GARDEN??!! I don't know... cape cod...hiking...beach... sea food...

3goodeggs, I had a good strawberry harvest this year from our 4x8 bed. What we didn't eat, I cleaned and packed in sugar so I could make jam. I collected for so long that I had 4 quarts crammed full of berries and sugar juice. We have ice cream topping instead of jam because I procrastinated until the berries were thisclose to fermenting. It is awesomely tasty stuff though!
