I reborn dolls ....anyone else?

Wow! Have always looked at the reborn dolls on Ebay and I can't even tell you how impressive they are. Was wondering how long it takes to create one from start to finish?

SS- Thanks for all the tips!
Yes-- I already ordered 6 kits from this sale! And used some of the coupons too!!!

kriswiles- It takes me a few days - 2 weeks to finish one... just depends on how committed I am to getting it done

As she said it can take some time...lol
I have had some I can paint over a weekend, mostly the preemies.
Some take ddaaayyysss, or even months....argh!...there are many layers of just the flesh paints, and the veining...sighs..and the blushing takes
...FOREVER!...lol...but once that's all done the fun begins as you start to give it a life like appearence. Adding the eyes is always a big thing for Me as they look more "real" then. You start to see the personality. Most times you don't even know what sex the reborn will be before you're
this close unless it's a special order.
If the hair is rooted, depending on the reborn's head size it can take up to a week if one is very determined. For Me painted hair ,I can do in a day if I am uninterrupted.

I am so excited as the eyes for my Cooper kit come tomorrow....it's all painted and as of yet I have no idea the sex of the reborn. It's really much like giving birth to something new each time. Blood, sweat, tears EVERYTIME...lol....and then the final out come.

By this weekend I will have completed...a full reborn Sienna, a Tanner kit (not complete doll) Painted and a Juliet painted kit ready for sale. And hopefully my Cooper kit done. That's mine BTW. And a Faith preemie kit finished....That didn't all get done over a weekend...LMAO

So I should have new pics soon of Tanner painted kit, Juliet painted kit, Cooper (Mine) and a completed Faith preemie (mine) which is now a boy.

If anything strikes someone's fancy...just let Me know

Thought I should mention, the Zombie twins have sold.
pouts...
I shall truely miss Elpheba (Elphie) and Nessa Rose

But they sold to a good friend of mine so I'll get to visit...lol

How many do you have in your personal collection?
So far I have 2 that I will not part with... 1 for sure!!! LOL

My one Taite that has a magnet for a binkie... some of the paint is being scratched off by the magnet on the bink... What do you do to prevent that?
I thought about adding felt over the magnet...

I wish I had the money to buy all the kits!!!!

Did a craft show today with my MIL... didn't sell much but the dolls are ALWAYS a hit! LOL
I know people don't go there expecting to pay that much at a show... but I handed out lots of business cards
AND I have an order for fairy babies and mushrooms that I sculpted! YAY!!!
I am going to be super busy now!!!

First the binkie mag problem...you can put felt over the mag but I think it's a bit thick, try using
a bit of fannel to cover the mag. And where the paint is rubbed off maybe add a touch of air dry sealer.
Now how many in My personal collection...lol...Um???? counts....Shaylee the toddler, Maci the baby in My refurbished Duckie bassinet, The twins Conner and Cara, the tiny's Andrew "Drew" and Abby...ponders...Oh and my little Stevey...lol...he's a Ashton Drake "Harriet" that's been reborn. They do get addicting and there are always some you just can't part with. I have one room in my home that's just the doll nursery.
It's always slow at first *S*...just keep doin what you're doing hand those cards out. And congrates on the fairies and mushrooms.....Those I need to see....lol
I have been asked to do commissions but I'm such a free spirit I feel it would limit me too much. I like to address the bare kit, ponder, then start painting and see where it goes from there. I let it lead me.....now the Tanner kit I got as I worked on it, I was more and more disappointed....grumbled alot...ugly head, block headed thing....lol...but as it went together I fell in love, Abby is adorable. Funny how things work out.
Good luck in all your endevors, keep me updated and feel free to PM anytime.
