Okay.... I have to ask
What is the secret to getting the right mixture of thinner and paint to paint hair?
It either goes on too thick or too thin... I can't get it to finish a full line or it gets a little runny.
I use mineral spirits... is that my problem? Do I need the special thinning medium?

Have you ever tried to "glue" mohair to the head with the matte finish?
I think I am going to giv it a try soon

I have never used mineral spirits. I use Daler Rowney thinner because it's very available here.
It is tricky getting the right consistancey, maybe if it's too thin let it set a bit. I don't paint one hair at a time...lol...I'd be insain. Have a look at these instructions. I found it most helpful. I do the comb brush method.

And yes some people are rude but keep in mind if it's beautiful to you that's what counts.
Oh and I did get a gorilla kit...lol...see you got me. I got the open eyes one.

The people that were rude thought it was a REAL - really hairy baby... Nope, it is a gorilla baby! LOL
It didn't hurt my feelings that they thought my "baby" was ugly...
But if they had thought my real baby was ugly I would have been heart broken.

Hey sorry I haven't been round much this week but my Mom passed away last tuesday and it's been crazy and weird for the family. Had her memorial on saturday. Still feeling a little...down but I hope to be round more now.

Not unexpected but still a bit of a shock, Ma had been bad off and on for two years.
yet the whole DNR thing is hard for a family. It's hard to sit and wait,watch till one takes the last breath. And then a entire week of family get togethers due to such! Am about to pull my hair out!
breathes....Ok all done now, finally...I can try to get back to normal

My bestfriend died a few years ago... (not that it is anywhere close to losing a parent) , but I find the hardest thing is when I want to call her
I can't anymore... I just can't... she is gone.
I know she is no longer in pain since cancer took the joys of life away from her.
23 is too young to die.

It gets easier... but never goes away.


I am having a hard time finishing one of my dolls... I have to get it done this week though

I finally finished the open eyed baby gorilla. You're right they're so stinking cute. I also got the closed eye one...yep couldn't help myself.

Yes... I am stuck on the doll I am working on. I want to have her done this week and I CANNOT get her skin tone right.
I want her to be more peaches and cream instead of newborn colors.
I think I got her too dark... and she is for a client Uuuugggggg!!!!!
So disappointed.
