I reborn dolls ....anyone else?

I am not very fond of the sculpt... it just doesn't speak to me... plus the ears are completely uneven. Sloppy.
The sculpt is Eden... just not a fan.

If you think it's too dark you could try stripping off a layer of paint or maybe give it another layer of the flesh tone, that might lighten it a bit.
Before you do any of the above take the painted kit and lay it next to a finished kit in good lighting then compare.. if the difference is just slight. It should be fine. I know how it is to work on a kit and suddenly you just hate it....lol...makes you very critical of everything.
When I am trying for a what you call peaches and cream look ( I want this look for older babies, like 6 months to toddler). I apply a good coating of flesh and then go very easy with the other color layers till it suits me.
Now...deep breath....back to work woman...lol...good luck.

you guys do great work.
just a little to creepy for me.
Thanks LOL

I stripped some of the paint off... I think I will try adding a layer of flesh... at this point I am not sure it could hurt

I am trying to figure out which kit to buy for my first doll. I've narrowed it down to 4 closed eyed kits from bountiful baby.
Kate, Heather, Chrisy, or Siena. I bought a Molly doll off of ebay even though she is adorable I think her head looks too small for her body.(I heard Shyann is a good swap for this). If you are familiar with them... Which of my 4 picks would you recommend for a first timer? and which of the 4 would you say has the best detail and proportion? Am I picking too big for a first timer? Thanks M :)

Okay, I am happier with this new layer I added! I have some blushing to do and finishing touches like nails... add her eyes, root hair, lashes... So much more to do!!!
The lady I am making her for wants a heartbeat box added! I think they are neat... but I wish it would beat longer than it does.

I agree with you on Mollys limbs being too big for her head...Her arms and legs were taken from another sculpt... I don't think they were a good match.
If the body is too big you can always swap it out with a smaller one from BB.

I would reccomend choosing a preemie kit for your first one. Preemies are so red and splotchy that if you over blush or mess up it is easy to hide.
Heather is the largest doll I have done...besides Eden.... I really enjoyed Heathers sweet face!

I agree with BFMom...a preemie is a good place to start. Not so much painting or rooting that you get too frustrated the first time around. If you don't want a preemie then start small as BFMom says the Heather kit is a pretty good size baby. Also you may want to avoid a kit with too much details until you practice a bit.
Good luck

Glad the fix is working out for you.

Originally, I bought 2 dolls at a resale place for a few dollars each.
It was harder to get the paint to look nice on them than it does on a new kit.
Maybe it was easier my first time on a real kit because it was so difficult on the others...

I do highly recommend rooting on a practice doll the first time...
I cut the hair from BB in half (not all of it but a small portion) It lasts longer and you won't have to do so much trimming

Thanks ladies! I'm so excited! I guess it will be a preemie then. I was a preemie in 1971. I weighed 3lbs 6oz.
Which sculpts are your favorite preemies? I'm leaning toward Kaelin maybe...any further recommends are greatly appreciated. Kudos to all your dolls!
