The Dove is not and adult yet. Not a young one either. The neighbor's cat was after her and I rescued her out of the street. When I brought her in the house I looked her over and noticed an ingrown feather on her neck. It was infected. I took the tweezers and pulled it out gently. Then I noticed something else was sticking out. It was a seed. When I pulled on the seed it opened up a hole where her crop is evidently. I flushed it out with warm water and more seeds came out. So now I have a young Dove with a hole in her crop. I would like to help her out. Will her crop heal on it's own? What should I do.
Yes I know she is a wild bird but I was expecting to have to keep her and repair her for the time being.
