That was a wonderful thing to do saving that Red Tail they are protected here also. As others have said they have their place in this world. They eat alot of field mice and snakes as well as small birds.

I am so sorry to hear about your parrot Dixie I had a Cockatiel and was very attached to Stanley he loved spageitti and popcorn. He would dance when I would pop popcorn. He was sooo funny.. He has been gone 15 years I still miss him,

Oh yes , I would of been screaming too ... Ohhhhh Honey !!!! HURRY !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank God he would of known what to do ( I sure would not have known anything ) hubby raised African Grays , McCaws , ETC .

My bird flew off my shoulder directly to the hawk, I think he was trying to protect me. He didn't know any better.

I have another Gray but she never goes outside with me after that happened. But the hawks still come by sometimes

OMG< Dixy...that must've been awful!!!

A redtail got my Silkie/cochin mix bantam hen, Miss MoneyPenny...in May...but it was a kindness...she had Marek's disease and was swirling the proverbial drain.

And I know that I wouldn't have been able to "do the deed".

They're beautiful even if they're flying up into your face at point blank range...

Excellent job. Thanks for saving the redtail...I have a bond with those creatures. They are fabulous.

Not to mention they are Federally protected by the Raptor Protection Act, they do good work in the ecosystem for sure.

I found one shot when I was a kid and brought her home, patched her up and she was buddy for 9 years.
