I saw what love does

The man I call my dad is my step-dad, but he's the only father I've ever had and he will always be my dad.
That is one of those feel-good moments that you will remember forever.

Awww, that was nice. I don't know your background history, but I'm glad you could be something to him.

Most of my stepmothers (all but this last one, and yes, my dad has had several) have been extremely evil!

It is unfortunate that I have been the first female adult in his life that has treated him like a person and not a cling on. My beloved has made some poor choices in the past, as I have too. It is humbling to hear him say that about me today. Humbling indeed.

Some of us have it in our hearts to be great parents, we think we were born to be Mom & Dad, and sometimes when it gets tough we question ourselfs. You just happen to be one of the great ones, sometimes I think God put me on this earth to be a good dad to my DD, I just don't want to let them down. Your a winner Debi and your son thinks so too.

I guess so, Al. I have a tendency to question past moves and wonder what that did to my son as he was growing up. I have not been in Kenny's life for long, but apparently long enough. I love that kid!

Deb,

You are a wonderful, loving "MOTHER"!

God gives us new opportunities sometimes. It's how we grow during our mortal test.

That love can grow. It must so that we can be like Him and come to truly know Him.

This is one of my favorite scriptures, it reminds me of Paul's writings to the Saints at Corinth.

"And charity suffers long, and is kind, and envies not, and is not puffed up, seeks not her own, is not easily provoked, thinks no evil, and rejoices not in iniquity but rejoices in the truth, bears all things, believes all things, hopes for all good things, endures all things.

Wherefore, my beloved brothers and sisters, if ye have not charity, ye are nothing, for charity never fails. Wherefore, cleave unto charity, which is the greatest of all, for all things must fail--

But charity is the pure love of Christ, and it endures forever; and whoso is found possessed of it at the last day, it shall be well with them.

Wherefore, my beloved brothers & sisters, pray unto the Father with all the energy of heart, that you may be filled with this love, which He hath bestowed upon all who are true followers of His Son, Jesus Christ; that you may become the sons and daughters of God; that when He shall appear we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is; that we may have this hope; that we may be purified even as He is pure. Amen." Moro. 7:45-48

I really do appreciate you Mahonri!!!! You manage to find the right words for me every single time! I am truly blessed to have the family that I have - here in my house and here on BYC.
