I scared my chickens

Another thought: how old are your chickens? I know when mine were young (until about 3-4 months) they were a bit skittish and really didn't enjoy treats. I thought it was so weird they didn't like mealworms...but once they grew up and started laying they would come running and gobble them up. Now they follow me around and enjoy any and all snacks. Maybe they're just going through a weird adolescent phase?
They are 4 months old. Hmmmmm I wonder if that may be the case...

In my opinion , If you stomped around and cuss like you did when you hurt yourself every time you feed them , They would get use to it. Really, My neighbor and son drive the lawn tractors along the fence. My dogs are barking or the neighbors dogs. I am yelling to the dogs or husband. My chickens come running every time they see me because I feed them. I do just hang out with them and take a break and sit with them and enjoy them. This week I carry a stick and give a little wack to anybody who wants to peck at my body, excuse me I am not food. They still come to me. I feed them meal worms, stuff from the kitchen and the garden, wet feed and dry. It not because you were loud it is because you were different, that is what scared them. They will get over, it if you do.

Our girls LOVE scrambled eggs. They're high in protein and they will just about mow each other over to get some. Try introducing some- they will go NUTS! :) They know who cares for them. They'll get over it.

Lol! You made me laugh! Well as long as I know I haven’t caused permanent trauma in them we should be fine. What a bunch of spoiled birds I have!

Thank you. I’m so frustrated. I worked so hard to get them to trust me. Now they act like I’m trying to hurt them.
They scare easily. When my pullets were 9 weeks old I was cleaning up their area and when done I thought I’d talk “chicken” to them so let out a semi loud “Baagark!”
All I saw were feet and tail feathers heading for the hills. LOL. Maybe that’s a four letter word in their language.

This made me laugh out loud! :)
