I see quite a few people blatantly selling live birds on eBay. Getting bids too.

I clicked the report button to see what happens or how it works, but I got some error message because I don't have an eBay account. I don't know why I'm so open to buy all kinds of things online but skeptical of buying ANYTHING on eBay. I know probably millions of people use it successful without trouble.
Yeah, I've used it a lot...especially for fish like my betta. You can get drop-dead Asian-bred bettas there...much fancier and prettier than most pet shops. I've never had one die in transit, either. I also use it for seeds and such that I can't find elsewhere.

I, too, would wonder what the heck. I mean...the policy is posted - got to wonder if someone is just 'testing the waters' to see if it will be allowed? Might be interesting to see if the posts are taken down.

With the cock birds I also sometimes wonder if there is some sort of undercover sting operation going... hmm... like when cops put out bait cars for car theives or Chris Hansen in "To Catch a Predator," like there's a whole room of guys in suits watching computer monitors waiting for bids to come in and then tracking down these people.

Seeds! There's an idea. I haven't been able to find daffodil bulbs anywhere locally!

I don't like people who think they can tell me what to do.
Ignored.

I offered something you can do, I didn't say you had to. Then I asked what you'd like to discuss about the ad because your original post was just a link with no text written by you. I'm sorry if somehow that offended you. You started a discussion and now don't seem to want to discuss anything :idunno

Yeah, I've used it a lot...

eBay is very safe as long as you stick to people with a lot of near perfect feedback.
Sellers will usually do anything to avoid getting a negative.
Every "enhancement" that eBay has made over the years seems designed to attract buyers, with zero regard for helping the sellers who provide all their content.
Things as silly as sellers not even able to give negative feedback to problem buyers.

This is interesting. I work in hospitality and have learned that TripAdvisor is similarly changing. The reviews and ratings get skewed and filtered in a way that doesn't accurately reflect reality. TripAdvisor admits that they have changed their algorithms, but can't/won't explain to anyone exactly how they work and how they decide which properties should be rated highly and which should be rated poorly.
