I seriously need help with my new puppy, PLEASE(UPDATE)

Ok I just have to vent! Why do people just give whatever to an animal, especially a puppy without reading dosage directions? He had 8 beautiful puppies and now he has almost killed all of them. That is if they even make it. He is an old man but I would love to "box his jaws" for him. I am so upset! The only thing that I can do as long as it is willing to eat/ drink, is to keep something in it at all times. It may take a couple days or a couple of weeks for it to recover from this.

I hope this has a happy ending

Its so sad that he did this to the innocent pups.
Good Luck to you and i so hope it straightens out for you

Are you sure the pup is even 6 weeks old like you were told? That could also make a big difference - But definitely keep up with the fluids & electrlytes... Hope everything turns out alright

No unfortunately I'm not sure that it is 6 weeks. All I can go on is what the man says. It is full blooded I saw the parent dogs but no papers to be certain of the date of birth. It is a good size puppy but again they are a large breed. I have managed to get electrolyte water, milk mixed with canned puppy food and cream mixed with water down him. I think about 6 ounces total through the evening. I am feeling a little better about him. He can take about 10 steps without just lying down or falling down now. I don't think I will sleep much if any tonight tho. He is so sweet. It just lies and wags it tail ever now and then. I just want it to get better so he can get up and run around and make all the horrible messes that puppies make.

You don't have a vet that you can call for advice? I can, and have, called my vet in middle of night, on a holiday, for an emergency puppy situation.

That's awfully early to be taking home a puppy of a large breed. I can't speak for small breeds but most sporting breeds don't go home until 8 weeks. I'm hoping it's ok by now.

Well I did not know that, but you would think he would have. I consider this little dog lucky because he doesn't seem to care. He said if they make it, they make it. If yours doesn't I will give your money back. I didn't ask for criticism. I asked for advice on what else I could do for it, if anything. And no, this is a rural area, so no local vet. Just made a phone call and I am doing everything I was told to do.
